We got invited to show and exhibit at The Block, SM North for My City. My SM. My Craft.
Together with local designers JC Buendia, Twinkle Ferraren, Happy Andrada, Carissa Cruz Evangelista, Farah Abu, Lally Dizon, Nere Ku, and Gretchen Gaffud.
Our advocacy to use local fibers like pinya (pineapple) in our knits coincides with My City. My SM. My Craft.’s goal to promote designers and artisans that utilize indigenous materials in their products. Encouraging the use of our indigenous materials and supporting small to medium enterprises.
We would like to thank Ms. Millie Dizon, SVP for PR for handpicking us and to Ms. Jamie, a member of her staff for all the awesome help!
Working with SM opened a lot of doors like meeting the producers, the people behind the film, and the director, Brillante Mendoza who filmed the Cannes awarded film, Taklub. It’s a movie based on stories of families who went experienced the typhoon Yolanda firsthand, it’s also set in my hometown, Tacloban City.
The month of July brings me back to Tacloban with a fashion show at the home turf, an exhibit, a talk at a local university and a livelihood program within the community!
I do not know what boredom is.
